World Badminton Championship 2022: The Pair of Dhruv Kapila- Arjun Mr into Quarterfinals
Indian badminton pair Dhruv Kapila-Arjun MR has reached the quarterfinals of the ongoing World Badminton Championships in Tokyo. Apart from both, the pair of men’s doubles Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty started off with a win at the mega event.
The Indian pair of Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty defeated the Japanese pair JP Bi-Equipped Molhede by a set score of 21-12, 21-10. Indian badminton legend Saina Nehwal has lost her match in women’s singles. Indian women shuttlers were defeated by a set score of 21-17, 16-21, 21-13 by Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand in the top-16 match.

The Indian pair of Dhruv Kapila-Arjun MR entered the quarterfinals of the World Badminton Championship. Both players defeated the Singapore pair of Hee Yang Kai Terry and Loh Keen Hian by a set score of 18-21, 21-15, and 21-16. At the same time, another Indian pair of Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty has entered the quarterfinals of the World Badminton Championships too.
Lakshya Sen and HS Prannoy facing each other
The fight between HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen continues. HS Prannoy had defeated second seed Kento Momota by a set score of 21-17 21-16 a day earlier, while 9th seed Lakshya Sen defeated Spain’s Luis Enrique by a set score of 21-17 21-19.
Kidambi Srikanth lost to an unseeded player
In another men’s singles match, 12th seed Kidambi lost by a set score of 9-21, 17-21 to unseeded Chinese Zhao Jun Peng.
Ponnappa-Sikki Reddy pair lost their match
Indian pairs of Ponnappa- Sikki Reddy have suffered defeat in women’s doubles. Earlier, the pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy got defeat by the Chinese pair of Chin Qingchen and Jiao Yi Fen by a set score of 21-15, 21-10. Another Indian pair Trisha Jolly-Gayatri Gopichand also defeated by Thailand’s Ten Pearle-T Muraleetharan by a set score of 21-8, 21-17.
