Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister of Odisha, on Monday officially unveiled “Football for All,” a project by FIFA in Odisha in collaboration with KIIT & KISS, to encourage football among schoolchildren.

In accordance with the programme, kids in roughly 2000 schools will get about 43,000 footballs. According to an official, this is the first initiative of its kind from FIFA to target schoolchildren in India.

On a virtual platform, Patnaik joined the show and stated that football is the most played sport and unites people from all over the world.

The Chief Minister stated that it is an honour for Odisha to host the FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup and added, “We have cooperated with AIFF and FIFA to deliver the finest of football to state. The World Cup will significantly advance the growth of football in the nation.

He expressed satisfaction over the program’s start and thanked FIFA for selecting Odisha for it. He also praised Achyuta Samanta, the founder of KIIT-KISS, for his involvement in bringing the programme to Odisha.

In order to advance football in Odisha, Patnaik was looking forward to future collaborations with FIFA.

According to Tusharkanti Behera, the state of Odisha is making significant investments in sports infrastructure as a result of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s vision. The FIFA cooperation would support the growth of football in schools, he added.
