Ronda Rousey opens up on Pairing with Paul Heyman after Criticism

Rousey spoke on several occasions about her appreciation for Heyman and her desire to collaborate with him during an appearance last week on The Baddest Stream on the Planet (h/t WrestlingInc’s Kenny Herzog):

Rousey responded that she is “extremely jealous” that Roman Reigns has Heyman on his side when questioned about the uncontested WWE world title. Later, Rousey declared that she would “without a question, without a doubt” be in support of Heyman managing her.

Many fans have imagined Rousey being under Heyman’s guidance over the years, particularly in light of the success that Heyman has helped people like Brock Lesnar and Reigns achieve.

Heyman is one of, if not the best orator in the annals of professional wrestling, and he might be of great assistance to Rousey in that regard as mic work is regarded as her weakest area of expertise.

According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Matthew Wilkinson of WrestlingInc), Rousey had to be taken aside by WWE officials to discuss her promo work shortly after her return to the company for the 2022 women’s Royal Rumble match.

Due to a recent attitude shift that has earned her goodwill among the WWE Universe, Rousey has been getting some momentum.

Rousey also dropped a rematch at SummerSlam against Liv Morgan, who had won the SmackDown Women’s Championship at Money in the Bank. She then attacked a referee and Morgan after the match.

Rousey was penalised and suspended in the storyline as a result, but ever since then, she has been causing havoc, killing security guards and WWE official Adam Pearce and even getting jailed on a SmackDown episode.

Heyman is currently preoccupied with Reigns and The Bloodline, but if Reigns ever decides to take a long break from the WWE, a collaboration between Heyman and Rousey might be advantageous for both parties and could perhaps result in Rousey having her most exciting run to yet.
