PSG is considering extending Messi’s deal by another two years at the Barcelona center
Since Lionel Messi left Barcelona for Paris Saint-Germain in 2021, the global hit has been linked to a Spotify return visit to Camp Nou. Hypotheses kept pace with social opportunities until the 35-year-old entered the final year of his deal in France.
To be sure, Messi signed a two-year deal with PSG when he joined them on a free transfer. In case of approval of the Argentine symbol, there is a possibility of an annual extension. Nevertheless, a return visit to Barcelona has been heavily promoted in recent months.
President Joan Laporta himself rescinded the call, demanding in several meetings that Messi’s part in Barcelona is not yet over. Boss Xavi Hernandez is also open to his previous partner returning to the club for one last tune.
With that in mind, Barcelona has made progress towards retouching their relationship with the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner following the treatment of his departure from the club the year before.
The Blaugrana reportedly need to re-sign Messi in a year no matter what. In any case, PSG do not expect to go down easy as they try to keep hold of the Argentina captain beyond 2023.
