In order to coach the team for the ICC World T20 Cup in Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rehired Australian batting icon Matthew Hayden.
PCB ropes Matthew Hayden as mentor of Pakistan team for World Cup
Hayden have also mentioned that talented group of athletes, will dominate the mega-event when it takes place the following month. He was part of the World T20 Cup in the UAE last year.
As per the reports from PCB, Hayden will be a part of the team, when they will enter in Brisbane from Christchurch on October 15 following playing in a T20I series with Bangladesh.
South African bowling expert Vernon Philander was engaged by the PCB as a bowling consultant for the most recent World Cup.
The PCB stated that the choice is a continuation of Hayden’s participation with the national men’s team after he led them to the previous World Cup semifinals.
Ramiz Raja, the chairman of the PCB, confirmed. And welcome Matthew Hayden back in Pakistan colours.
He has a track record of success, and his credentials are well known throughout the world.
Additionally, the PCB has secured sponsors to cover Hayden’s fees.In a PCB announcement, Hayden was quoted as stating that he is incredibly pleased to be reconnecting with the Pakistan team and can’t wait to join the culture again and feel the spirit of One Nation One Passion.
He also mentioned that he have observed Pakistan’s performance in the ACC T20 Asia Cup, and their victory over India on Sunday was outstanding.
He believes that this Pakistani team has what it takes to succeed in Australia, and the playing conditions would be ideal for them both offensively and defensively. This team is well-prepared, and I have no doubt that it will dominate the World Cup like it did in the UAE the previous year, added the bulky Australian.
