Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, two attackers for Manchester United, have resumed training ahead of Sunday’s derby match against Manchester City, while captain Harry Maguire will be out with an injury, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Rashford missed United’s most recent two games—a Europa League match against Sheriff Tiraspol and a match against Real Sociedad—due to a muscle ailment, while Martial has only played for 45 minutes this year because of hamstring and Achilles problems. Harry Maguire is hurt, I hear. We aren’t sure about the remainder,” Ten Hag told reporters on Friday.

“I’m incredibly delighted with the Anthony Martial issue since he trained all week with the team. He’s doing a great job in training and leaving a nice impression. Rashford has resumed training, so we are pleased.

During England’s 3-3 draw with Germany on Monday, Maguire sustained a wound. Ten Hag was sure the defender could turn his form around despite the fact that he was benched and did not start United’s final four games before the international break.

Ten Hag has already presided over four straight league victories after suffering losses in his first two competitive games as manager. United’s streak of victories has propelled them from last place in the standings to fifth following six games.

Rashford earned the player award following scoring a hat trick and dishing up the two assists in the Premier League last month. Ten Hag was already awarded the league’s manager of the month for September. “It’s in recognition of what our team accomplished. It shows that we are moving in the correct way since we accomplished it together. Ten Hag noted that there was still much room for improvement.

Although United haven’t played in a league match since defeating Arsenal on September 4, they still have a busy month of October ahead of them, beginning with a quick journey to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to take on Pep Guardiola’s City.
