The visitors started to lead the pack in the 18th minute when Pasquale Mazzocchi’s cross from the edge of the box found midfielder Antonio Candreva, who crossed his body from close range.

Striker Krzysztof Piatek made it 2-0 for Salernitano just before half-time with a cool-headed free-kick, sending keeper Mattia Perino the wrong way after the visitors were awarded a penalty when Gleison Bremer saved Piatek’s handball.

Juventus came alive when Bremer scored with a superb header in the 51st minute and the home side then dominated possession at that point and pressed high up the pitch before being punished for Tonny Vilhena’s foul on keeper Alex Sandro.

Bonucci failed to beat goalkeeper Luigi Sepe with his work from the spot, but the home side finished off the rebound.
