India vs Zimbabwe 2nd ODI: Match Review

Team India won the consecutive second match of the three-match series against Zimbabwe by 5 wickets. With this, team India has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. With the brilliant performance of the bowlers, India had bowled out Zimbabwe for just 161 runs in 38.1 overs. Indian pacer Shardul Thakur took 3 wickets. After this, Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson (43) contributed well to win the match. At the same time, 33 runs each were contributed by both Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill.

Indian vice-captain Shikhar Dhawan and exciting young batsman Shubman Gill are in excellent form. Both players chase 190 runs in the last match. Both remained unbeaten till the end of the 1st ODI. Earlier in the ODI series against West Indies too. Both had a brilliant performance with the bat. Shubman Gill was the highest run-getter of the series. While Shikhar Dhawan was 2nd highest run-getters in the series. Luke Jongwe took the highest 2 wickets for the team Zimbabwe.


India named the fourth consecutive ODI series

With this victory, the Indian team has won the fourth consecutive series in ODIs. Earlier, men in blue have defeated West Indies twice and England once this year. India’s run of winning the ODI series going continuously. While India is playing with youngsters and not with their first chosen XI in most of the series.

Team India has never lost ODI series since 1997

With this win, India won the 7th consecutive series against ZIM. The last time Zimbabwe’s team defeated India in an ODI series was in 1997. After this, India won the ODI series between the two teams in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2013, 2015, and 2016 consecutively. In the first ODI match, India won the match by 10 wickets. Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill added 192 runs for the win.
