Emma Raducanu claimed she is prepared for the US Open the next week and promised to give her all, after becoming emotional briefly during a nearly two-hour practise on Friday night.

The reigning champion downplayed the difficult workout, claiming it was just “one of those crazy days.”

She admitted to having a few minor issues, like blisters and the occasional ache, during a news appearance.

“It’s just one of those strange days where you feel a little out of it and like nothing,” the speaker said.

I just don’t know how to describe myself. I don’t really worry about anything, really.

Before her initial match against Alize Cornet, 19-year-old Raducanu said she had nothing severe wrong with her even though she seemed to be fighting with a wrist issue and was agitated at one point.

It was one of those blips, she claimed, where you are unsure of what is happening.

In Tuesday’s night session at Louis Armstrong Stadium, the world No. 1 Raducanu of Great Britain, who is seeded No. 11, takes on Cornet of France, who is ranked 37th in the world.

Raducanu stated that there is no pressure on her before the competition despite the fact that she appeared nervous and uneasy.

I believe that I am not the only one who is considering pressure and ranking more than you guys are. I’m simply going to carry out my own plans, as I stated last year, she remarked.

Before taking a lengthy break and pointing at the lower portion of Ekaterina Alexandrova’s right arm, Raducanu whacked for 40 minutes during their practise session.

Though she didn’t appear too delighted at first, especially when it came to serving, she continued and eventually finished her allowed time in hot and humid conditions.

Current head coach Dimitry Tursunov and physio Will Herbert kept a close eye on everything as it happened.
