Asia Cup 2022: Champion Sri Lanka Got Rs. 1.19 Cr and Runner-up Pakistan 59.14 Lakhs

Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs in the final of the Asia Cup. The team has become the champion of this mega tournament in 2014. This is Sri Lanka’s sixth title. Earlier he had won this title in 2014, 2008, 2004, 1997, and 1986.

Pramod Madushan bowled brilliantly for Sri Lanka and dismissed Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman in two consecutive balls. First, he got Babar Azam caught out. Then on the very first ball, Fakhar Zaman was clean bowled. After this, he caught Iftikhar Ahmed, who was completely set, out. Iftikhar scored 32 runs off 31 balls.

Sri Lanka and Pakistan teams became rich

After the victory, the Asian Cricket Council gave the champion Sri Lanka the trophy of about one crore 19 lakh rupees. Runner-up Pakistan got prize money of around Rs 59.74 lakh. At the same time, Player of the Tournament Wanindu Hasaranga got Rs 11.94 lakh and Player of the Match Bhanuka Rajapakse got Rs 3.98 lakh.

Hasaranga got 3 crucial wickets

Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 170 runs in 20 overs for the loss of 6 wickets. In reply, Pakistan’s team was all-out for 147 runs in 20 overs. Pramod Madushan took the highest 4 wickets for Sri Lanka. At the same time, Wanindu Hasaranga got 3 successes. These three wickets came in the 17th over and this over was the turning point of the match. Hasranga dismissed Rizwan (55), Asif Ali (0) and Khushdil Shah (2).

Hasaranga: Man of the series

Sri Lankan bowler Wanindu Hasaranga played took 9 wickets in the Asia Cup 2022. It is the second most in the tournament. The most wicket was taken by Indian bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar (11 wickets) in Asia Cup 2022. The bowling performance of Hasranga changed the game for Sri Lanka.

For this brilliant performance, he was awarded the man of the series. Hasaranga made a brilliant 36 runs in just 21 balls in the final match too. Haris Rauf took the maximum 3 wickets for Pakistan. At the same time, Shadab Khan, Naseem Shah, and Iftikhar Ahmed got one wicket each.

Sri Lankan batsman Bhanuka Rajapaksa played an innings of 71 runs off 45 balls. His innings changed the game for Sri Lanka. He completed his half-century in just 35 balls. For this brilliant performance, he was awarded man of the match.
